Half the fun of wedding planning is hunting for inspiration and the pieces you know will just "make your wedding." A small trinket, particularly vintage pieces, but hand-crafted wares have a similar effect, are meaningful and full of love. Plus, the chase - hunting for vintage keys/horseshoes/bowties/etc. weekend after weekend - it never gets old. In fact, even after our big day, I still found myself scanning shops for vintage cans and batik fabrics.
